Dr. Heng Tang works in partnership with Dr. Brad Armstrong out of the practice rooms at Sunnybank Private Hospital. Brad and Heng know each other very well and have a solid working relationship since they were public registrars at the Mater Hospital in 2002. Both doctors are like minded and have a similar approach to obstetric problems and management.

Patient safety is of our utmost concern, and to fall into line with other obstetric practices we have the following on call arrangement:

Dr. Armstrong will cover on call all practice patients Mondays, Wednesdays and his own patients on Fridays. 

Dr. Tang will cover all practice patients Tuesdays, Thursdays and his own patients on Fridays.

This means that the maximum time on call before an allocated rest period will be 36 hours.

A “crossover” visit will be arranged at a visit prior to delivery to meet the other obstetrician so you are familiar with them.

Please bear in mind we have undertaken this arrangement to reduce the risk of medical errors and keep patient safety a priority. We still maintain some of the lowest obstetric fees in Brisbane ensuring affordable quality private health care.

Dr. Tang and Dr. Armstrong also have a rostered on-call arrangement for weekends with 5 other reputable and experienced private obstetricians at Sunnybank Private hospital. This arrangement allows for better on-call management for patients, as well as allowing Heng to commit more time for the other aspects of patient care.

Dr Tang will still cover his own patients on many weekends regardless of this roster, however if he is not available on a particular weekend, the roster will show the covering Obstetrician. 

Dr. Tang is also a part-time staff specialist at the Mater Mother's Hospital and has admitting and visiting right to the Mater Private Hospital.
